Finally getting around to racking the Candy Corn Mead 🍬🍯
This one’s been hanging out for a bit and it’s looking really good so far. Sitting around ~10.7% ABV, nice color, and surprisingly drinkable for something that started with bags of candy corn.
Next step: more back-sweetening with… you guessed it… more candy corn.
Because moderation has never been my strong suit 😅
If you’ve ever wondered “should I ferment candy corn?” — the answer is still probably not… but here we are anyway

Went outside to enjoy the day… 🌞
Looked around, noticed a few things that “needed done”…
Grabbed the trimmer… halfway through realized I never put shoes on. 🤦‍♂️
Anyone else start yard work in full productivity mode and barefoot like a caveman, or is that just me? 😅

Turns out not grill maintenance is important. Who knew? 😅

My wife and I discovered we have a serious problem… we ran out of a seasoning we love and can’t find it anywhere.
So naturally, instead of giving up, I did what any mead guy would do — I tried to make it myself using honey bourbon. Because if it needs flavor, honey belongs in it.
First attempt?
Absolutely charred.
Burnt to a crisp.
Straight-up Anakin Skywalker on Mustafar.
Round two is coming. I’ve learned nothing… except less heat. 🍯🥃🔥

Racked my strawberry pomegranate mead
Started 9/3 OG 1.165 Finished ~13.8% ABV
100% pomegranate juice (no water), mesquite & mango honey, plus strawberries.
Deep color, big flavor, and finally off the lees.
Fruit-forward meads… do you rack early or let them sit forever?

Made a quick packing video for that Churchill plate set I just sold.
Bubble wrap. More bubble wrap. Some paper. Lots more paper.
And, of course… a little prayer. 🙏
Anyone else get nervous shipping breakables, or am I just over-wrapping everything?

My buddy at brewing in the basement showed me a labeling trick that seriously levels up your bottles, and it’s stupid simple. 🍯📄

No fancy label paper.

No special printer.

Just print your label on normal paper, cut it to size, soak it in milk, squeeze it onto the bottle, and smooth it out.

Holds great, looks clean, and when you’re done?

A little water and it comes right off.

Cheap, easy

Sometimes the best brewing hacks are the simplest ones.

Racked this batch today and I’m pretty happy with where it landed.

Caramel Apple Mead #3 started on 10/17 and finished at 9.45% ABV, leaving it on the sweeter side.
This one took a few tries to dial in, but the caramelized honey really came through.

Next step is letting it rest and putting together some proper labels.

Would you drink this as a dessert mead, or try to push it drier next time?

Finally racked the Strawberry Mango Mead 🍓🥭
Started at 1.145, now sitting at 1.012 (~17.5%) and tasting dangerously smooth.

This one’s been patiently bubbling since September — fruit forward, big honey backbone, and absolutely worth the wait. Now it gets to rest… while I try not to drink it. 😅🍯
